The average age of the vineyard in Morgadío is 40 years.Morgadío was an experimental farm before the D.O. It is unique.

Without forgetting our original identity, we innovate every day and want to overcome ourselves with a single purpose: to make the result of a dignified work patent and enduring, which crowns every moment lived as the triumph of an instant.

The winery is located in the Rías Baixas County subzone, with almost 40 hectares of vineyards of the Albariño variety. Marked Atlantic character and highlighting the minerality of the Galician “terroir”.

A new stage oriented towards the production of quality wines, «estate» wines with their own personality. We also want to bet on the dissemination of the Culture of wine, approaching and offering the different projects that we will carry out in this field.

RIAS BAIXAS

The Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin is a small wine-growing area located in the northwest of Spain, in the region of Galicia. Although in the Rías Baixas there is a deep wine tradition, which has been inherited generation after generation, it is from 1988.

Morgadío – Albariño


Morgadío – Albariño

Morgadío comes from the Portuguese word ‘morgado’, which designated the group of plots and possessions that were indivisibly handed down to the eldest son and that were linked to the perpetuation of the family’s tradition.

Variety: Albariño

Sub-area: Condado do Tea

Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Total acidity: 5.7 gr/l

Reducing sugars: 2 gr/l

Sandy soil with espalier.

Made by controlled fermentation between 15ºC and 18ºC for approximately 15 days in 5,000-litre stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, it remains on the lees for at least 3 months.

Puerta Santa – Albariño

Puerta Santa is the most important access to Santiago de Compostela’s Cathedral. For the traveller, entering through it means being linked to a sense of acceptance and belonging to a community that welcomes everybody with open arms.
